Nuts & Dates Bread

A moist and comforting date bread made with naturally sweet Medjool dates, brown sugar, and warm vanilla flavors. Enriched with buttery goodness and optional crunchy walnuts or pecans, this homemade loaf offers the perfect balance of sweetness, softness, and nutty texture in every slice.

Baking soda

Soft brown sugar

Melted butte

Chopped walnuts or pecans

Step 1

In a bowl, combine the chopped dates, boiling water, and baking soda. Let sit for 10 minutes until the dates soften.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla until well combined.

Step 3

Add the date mixture, including all the soaking liquid, and mix well.

Step 4

Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold gently until the flour is just incorporated.

Step 5

Fold in the walnuts or pecans, if using.

Step 6

Pour the batter into a bread pan lined with parchment paper.

Step 7

Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the bread cool slightly before serving.
